Hike NS has partnered with Urban Poling
to offer a Nordic Walking clinic, teaching you the techniques of this growing activity. Urban poling (also known as Nordic walking)—think cross-country skiing without the skis—has toning, calorie-burning and posture benefits that have made it popular in Europe for decades and a new workout favourite in Canada. Just grab your poles and go—no need for a pricey spandex outfit or a fancy gym membership!
Urban Poling is proud to be 100% owned and operated Canadian company. Incorporated in 2005, it was one of the first companies to bring Urban Poling (generic name is Nordic walking) to Canada! Today as Canada’s largest education centre and distributor, its high performance Urban and ACTIVATOR poles are found in over 300 stores and have been adopted as a therapy and fitness tool by more than 3,000 graduates of its training programs including diverse healthcare professionals and fitness instructors across the country.
About the Clinic
The course is taught by a certified Urban Poling Instructor and demo poles will be available for use and for sale after the session. Dress comfortably for a brisk pole walk! It will take place in Halifax on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10 am to 12 pm in Point Pleasant Park.
The Quick Start Clinic is $25 for a two-hour clinic.
