Modelled loosely after the successful Mood Walks project in Ontario (www.moodwalks.ca
), the goal of this pilot project is to promote physical activity in nature as a means to improve both physical and mental health for youth experiencing mental illness or at risk of mental illness. It will identify agencies serving these youth, provide training and resources to leaders and participants and see agencies run regular hiking groups (hikes to start fall 2018)
This project was funded with the support of Nova Scotia Health Authority’s Chronic Disease Innovation Fund.
