Fall 2020 Guided Hikes

Hike Nova Scotia and 17 host organizations offer the 2020 Fall Guided Hike Series from September to November across NS. There are over 30 hikes led by local folks and participants qualify to win “trail prizes.” These free hikes require pre-registration and will follow public health protocols, including social distancing. Hike NS thanks its partners for organizing the hikes on the ground as well as MEC, Goose Lane Editions and the NS Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage for their support.

COVID-19: We urge you to hike while respecting gathering limits, practice social distancing and follow the advice of public health officials. Parks, trails and beaches are now open but there are restrictions to their use. If you have questions about trail use, please ask government directly. Note that the new gathering limits coming into effect on October 1 do not apply to hiking groups or guided hikes, unfortunately.

Winter Guided Hike Series 2020
Hike Nova Scotia and 35 host organizations partnered up to offer the 2020 Winter Guided Hike Series from January to March 2020 across NS. There were 48 hikes attended by over 835 people. Led by local folks, participants qualified to win “trail prizes.” Hike NS thanks its partners for organizing the hikes on the ground as well as MEC, Goose Lane Editions and the NS Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage for their support.

Free Hike Leaders
Hike NS does not have the volunteer or staff capacity to provide free hike leaders to specific groups, so please contact your local community trail group or municipal recreation department - they might be able to help. And there are lots of free guided hike events already scheduled for you and your group to enjoy on our Events page, organized by various organizations across the province.
