Trail Talk: Fireside Chats with Hike NS
Hike Nova Scotia invites you to a new series of virtual fireside chats with people who have interesting hike experiences and stories to share. Join us around the virtual fire for these informal chats to learn more about fascinating people and how they make hiking a part of their lives, often in unique ways or places. There’s a chance for the audience to ask questions of our guests too. These experiences are free for Hike NS members or $20 for non-members (who then receive a free one-year membership).

Our Hosts
Jonathan Riley: Jonathan is the host of our Trail Talk: Fireside Chats. He sits on the board of Hike NS as Vice President and is a former journalist. He is currently the Trail and Open Spaces Coordinator with the Municipality of the District of Digby.
Janet Barlow: Assisting Jonathan on the technical side of things, Janet is the Executive Director of Hike NS and life-long hiker.

Our Next Chat

Our Guests
Join us in our Fireside Chat with the Accessible Adventurers. Dee Osmond and Kevin Penny are an interabled couple who post online weekly about their travel adventures and accessibility reviews.

Register Here

Registration is required 24 hours in advance. It is free for Hike NS paid members and $20 for non-members (who then receive a free one-year individual membership). There is a limited number of spots available as we want to give attendees a chance to ask questions and this is better facilitated with smaller groups.

Note: We recommend participating in the webinar electronically through your computer or device. If you experience audio or video issues, you can call-in in addition to or instead of electronically. Please note that, if you call-in, long distance charges will apply according to whatever arrangement you have with your telecommunications provider.

After registration you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the fireside chat event. It is your responsibility to confirm you have received the confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam filter. If it is not there, contact Hike NS and do so at least two hours before the event. Note: This is a live event only, there will be no recording available afterward.

Please do not share the event link as it is unique to your registration. There is a limited number of spots available in the event and they are reserved for those who are registered.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Hike NS requires one day of notice in order to reimburse anyone who wishes to cancel their registration (by 7 pm the day before the event). Sometimes Hike NS must cancel an event due to host or guest illness, low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstance. If Hike NS has to cancel the event, you will be contacted as soon as possible and will be fully reimbursed. You will not be reimbursed if you missed the event because you could not find the link. After registration you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the event. It is your responsibility to confirm you have received the confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam filter. If it is not there, contact Hike NS and do so at least two hours before the event.
