Walk Leader Training



 

Do you like to walk and are looking for a way to give back to your community? Help support more people in Nova Scotia enjoy the benefits of walking! NS Walks is starting local community-based walking groups. We are looking for people interested in leading gentle, fun, friendly regularly scheduled walks for others who are currently less active. We will provide free walk leader virtual training to give you the skills and confidence to lead these walks. Learn more about NS Walks here

In this live, online session, we'll cover the following:

  • Aspects of health
  • Benefits of physical activity and walking
  • Encouraging people to become more active
  • Roles of a walk leader
  • Pace of a walk
  • Planning routes
  • Risk assessment
  • Gaining confidence
  • and more...
Included will be breaks and a real walk in your community!
