Tick Prevention Webinar

Hike Nova Scotia’s Tick Prevention webinar is geared for new and experienced hikers interested in learning more about tick prevention. It will be offered at 7 pm on Thursday, May 27. Join Donna Lugar, the NS Representative of the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation and Lyme Education Ambassador for the Global Lyme Alliance, as she delves into all things hikers should know about ticks and tick prevention to ensure a safe hike.

Note: This is a live webinar only; there will be no recording available afterward.

Presenter
The presenter is Donna Lugar. After a number of years of steadily multiplying symptoms that affected all systems, Donna was clinically diagnosed with Tick-borne diseases in 2011. Since that time, she has founded the NS Lyme Support Group; become the NS Representative of CanLyme; and become a Lyme Education Ambassador, Global Lyme Alliance. She has helped organize conferences; spoken to a number of groups and organizations; and has represented Nova Scotia in meetings with the Public Health Agency of Canada. Donna’s blog, “Shining the Lyme Light” includes a considerable amount of information and provides a bit more on her interest in all things ticks.

The webinar is offered in partnership with the NS Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage.

Cost
Registration is required in advance. It is free for Hike NS paid members and $20 for non-members (who then receive a free one-year individual membership).

Note: We recommend participating in the webinar electronically through your computer or device. If you experience audio or video issues, you can call-in in addition to or instead of electronically.
