Hike Nova Scotia’s Engaging Your Board in Fundraising will take place on
May 24 at 7 pm. From campaign and special event leadership, planning and implementation, and community connections, an organization’s Board of Directors can play a significant role in the success of its fundraising efforts. This presentation focuses on approaches to get your board engaged in your organization’s fundraising activities; to leverage their skills and knowledge and give effective strategic direction to the passion that brought them “on board” with your mission. Topics include board requirements/expectations, recruitment, the role of staff, fundraising plan development, and overall board governance.

David Oyler runs
Oyler Consulting and works with organizations and allied sector professionals to effectively deliver their programs and services. David’s primary areas of expertise include guidance on Canada Revenue Agency policy for registered charities, fundraising and revenue generation development, assistance for organizations seeking to register as a charity, and meeting facilitation. David has been working in the charitable and non-profit sector since 2001. He’s worked and volunteered for a host of nonprofits and charities. He is a member of Hike Nova Scotia’s fund development committee.
