Hike Nova Scotia has various projects underway. Ongoing projects include:
Leave No Trace (outdoor ethics education)
 
International Appalachian Trail in Nova Scotia
Trail Shelter Project
Hike NS has commissioned a study of the challenges and considerations of planning long distance hiking trails to accommodate the need for hikers to have an established place to overnight. The results will be available in September, 2008 and will assist Nova Scotia trail developers in their work.
Other Active Projects:
- Advocating for more hiking, walking and snowshoeing opportunities in NS
- Developing a Safe Hiker course as part of an eventual Hike Leader training program
- Development of Hiking Distance Award system
